"Being a Pardee Team Member has allowed me to talk about one of the most significant passions in my life which is being a nurse. A bedside nurse who loves to care for people and make a difference in their lives. I am still unsure about what our affiliation with UNCHC will mean for us, but it is my hope that it will mean more nursing education as well as better opportunities for growth and expansion. New opportunities for improved and less invasive technology. One of the good things that I have seen so far is Jay Kirby who I really like and trust to lead us forward. Our need for leadership has never been greater and we have suffered for many years from too many administrative changes and lackluster leadership. I have never had any problem being passionate about being a nurse but I now have a renewed passion for my hospital."

"Being a part of the Pardee team is associated with the concept of community. I love our community (Hendersonville) and want to participate and “give back” to those who gave for me. It’s an idea of play it forward as well as I would like to impact the younger generation and encourage them to have the same sense of community. The Pardee community is a part of the larger picture. The people of Pardee are what make it so special. People here are kind, compassionate and caring. Partnering with UNC (as I see it), will allow the people of Pardee access to up-to-date education and seminars. We will be able to use the best and newest evidence for the care of our patients. It’s a win-win situation!"

"Partnering with UNC Health provides Pardee Hospital with the opportunity to be part of a large cohesive health care system that is owned and operated by the people of NC. Pardee is now part of a group of eight hospitals whose mission is to integrate the research from the University of North Carolina Medical School directly into patient care. This partnership will provide our hospital with “cutting edge” technology that will assure our patients that they will receive the best care available in the state. Also, this partnership will help Pardee to be competitive in a quickly changing healthcare world. Within the world of electronic medical records this partnership means that eventually patients can travel across the state and will be able to receive treatment anywhere while staff can access their health information from any location. This partnership means that we can provide even more innovative and safer care for patients in a technologically interrelated health care world. "

"To be a team member means working towards a common goal. Since serving on the Pardee “Service Standards” committee I have developed new friendships and feel like I belong to a special group whose goal is to ensure that the “Performance Standards”, we have developed are followed. Our “ACTIONS” not only “Speak louder than Words” but they define who we are and how we impact the attitudes of our patients and coworkers. By serving on this committee, we have not only been asked to develop standards but must now serve as role models to our fellow workers. We also need to be an advocate for our patients. Our patients are the reason we come to work each day. By treating all our patients with the respect and compassion they deserve we can make a difference in their lives. We truly are Pardee, and how the community views our hospital is how we present ourselves and facility to them. Personally, I can say that I work with a great team that genuinely cares about our patients and each other. We have outstanding physicians, an excellent leader and a caring professional and clerical staff who go the extra mile everyday for patients and coworkers. People are surprised when I say, “This is the best job I have ever had”, but honestly it is, and the reason I can say that is because of the patients we care for and the people I work with. "
"To me, being a Pardee team member means that I have the honor and privilege of working for an organization that truly cares about its team members and is led by a team that values our service, talents, skills and input. All of those things combined create an excellent working environment and enable us to grow both professionally and personally. Partnering with UNC shows that they recognize what a great hospital this is and that we provide excellent care to our patients."

"I am honored to be chosen by Case Management to be a member of Fire Starters. I feel the group has heard a lot of good ideas from team members. These ideas will help each employee grow and prosper not only at the hospital but out in the community. We will all be one big team because each one of us will say “I am Pardee” and be proud. Being a team member with UNC HC will bring growth for hospital employees and the community."

"Being a Pardee Team Member means I'm part of an organization that is striving for continual growth and opportunity, not only within the healthcare industry and the community, but also for its employee family.I see being a partner with UNCH as an opportunity for us to gain valuable knowledge and support from a much larger organization that can help us obtain our goals. It's always easier to reach your goals when you have a support system, and UNCH is a great one to have in our corner."

"For me, being a Pardee team member means working with wonderful, dedicated people committed to caring for the community and each other in the best possible way. It means developing a personal relationship with our patients and families that allow us to care for the whole person, and taking personal responsibility for making that care happen. To partner with UNCH means sharing resources, wisdom, and experience to serve people in a way that we could not manage alone; adding UNCH's strengths to our own for the best care of our neighbors."

"To be a Pardee team member selected by our Security Department means that our department buys into making Pardee Hospital a safe, friendly hospital in which our clients feel "we care" about them as well as our employees by being proactive in our relationships to all persons. I feel for the first time in my 7 years a part of the organization with ability to help guide our organization into a successful future through our daily involvement and interaction with patients, visitors, and staff. As for being a partner with UNCH, I feel we have resources we can now tap into to make Pardee the first place patients chose to come and the first place employee seek to join orur organization."
